Creating a centralised app to support the return of music festivals post COVID19

FestiPal is a native iOS app that provides one central, consistent place for users to schedule and organise all the festivals they are attending.
The app focuses on making each event as efficient as possible and provides features, such as stage capacity indicators, for users that feel anxious about returning to these large scale events post COVID-19.
My role: Sole end-to-end Product designer, from concept and research right through to UI.
Timeline: January 2021 - April 2021
Problem
The festival industry was hit incredibly hard by the pandemic and a lot of people felt nervous about returning to these large scale events.
Hypothesis: We believe by creating one central app we will reduce any stress and help combat concerns around returning to large scale events after the pandemic. This will lead to higher rates in the overall experience and organisation of these events.

Following an iterative user-centred design process, I created a mobile app that successfully met the following user stories:
As a festival goer, I want to be able to download line ups, maps and tickets so that I can access them when there is no internet in the festival.
As a user attending lots of festivals I want a one central app to store all my stuff, so I don't have to navigate between other apps.
As a music lover, I want to make personalised line ups and see any clashes, so that I can pack in as much music as possible.
As a user who worries about COVID, I want to see how busy stages and bars are, so that I can avoid overcrowding.
As a user that views cleanliness as very important, I want to be able to see the level of hygiene at each set of toilets so I can avoid wasted trips and time.
Final product
